Lovely vintage solid brass cased hourglass sand timer with pretty pink sand.
What it is: Mini egg timer / tea steeping timer / game timer / meditation timer / desk decor. When you flip it, the fine pink sand streams through the glass in about 2.5-3 minutes. Great for timing a soft boiled egg, steeping loose leaf tea, or a quick meditation.
Details:
• Solid brass case with oval viewing windows - not plated
• Flat top and bottom with diamond crosshatch pattern on base - can stand on either end
• Original pink sand - clean and dry, flows smoothly - see photos with sand stream
• Measures approx 3 3/4" tall per ruler photo, 1 1/2" wide at base
• Weighs about 8 oz - nice heavy feel
• No cracks to glass, sand intact, brass has light vintage patina / tarnish from age - can be polished shiny if you prefer, sold as-found estate condition
I tested it - works! The sand may clump slightly if stored long, just give it a tap.
