Lovely vintage pewter candle snuffer featuring two highly detailed seashells. This is the hard-to-find double shell version - a round whelk shell forms the snuffer bell, with a long auger shell as the handle finial.
A wonderful functional piece for your mantel, altar, or candle display. Use it to snuff taper and pillar candles without blowing hot wax or smoke.

• Solid cast pewter shells with original dark patina
• Marked inside bell in script: "Pewter U.S.A."

Condition: Good vintage condition. Light tarnish and patina consistent with age and use. Interior of bell shows light soot from use. No cracks or breaks. The P in "Pewter" is in fancy script and can look like a C in photos - I have included a close-up of the mark.
