I am a long time scrapbooker and card maker. When I retired early after 32 years in corporate America I started also making crafts. Then I found vintage finds resellers on Facebook and got hooked on thrifting to make over items or just resell. I have found I love thrifting and flipping my finds. Being a new reseller I appreciate every view, offer and purchase. Hope you enjoy my items.
This hand-carved and painted cottonwood root figure depicts the Koshare (Hano Clown) Katsina, a sacred Hopi/Pueblo figure known for gluttony and humor, featured with iconic black and white stripes and holding a watermelon slice. The piece includes traditional yarn and fur accents and is mounted on a natural wooden base. Makers mark on bottom (see photos) but was unable to identify actual maker. It weighs 2.8 oz and is 9.75 in high. The base measures 3 1/8 x 2 3/8 inches. Came from an estate where it has been sitting on a shelf untouched for over 25 years. Comes from a smoke free home.
