This is a VINTAGE Fukagawa Arita #901 sauce dish. It was purchase by my uncle during his service in the Pacific theatre during the Korea/Vietnam conflict era. It came home in the hold of his ship and he gave an entire set of this china to my grandmother upon his return. My grandmother, in turn, passed them on to me in the mid 1990s. This is a luxurious and elegant piece of porcelain dinnerware. The intricate design features a god and white color scheme depicting bamboo trees, and will add a touch of sophistication to your home decor or table. It can be used as a jewelry holder or change catcher on an entry table, or a LED candle holder. Due to its age on this piece, I would not suggest a real candle. You could use it to hold salt or pepper on your table or put it under a small pot to catch water even. I have only ever handwashed this set, so I do not suggest use of a dishwasher. This has been sitting on display in my hutch since I received it. I haven't seen any others of this design, so grab it now.
