Modernist Two-Tone Curved Wood Stand – Made in Germany
A really well-made sculptural wood piece I picked up for the shop – simple, heavy, and beautifully finished. Light natural wood with three black inlaid stripes, curved in a gentle arc so it rocks slightly or sits as a low riser.
I’m listing it as a decorative stand because that’s how these German modernist pieces were sold – perfect as:
• a book / cookbook / tablet stand
• a letter or recipe card holder
• a small display plinth for an object or plant
• a minimalist paperweight / desk sculpture
Details:
• Solid wood construction, likely beech, with tight grain and satin finish
• Two-tone design: natural wood with three flush black wood inlays (not paint)
• Smooth curved underside – no felt, sits flat on a desk or shelf
• Original “Made in Germany” paper label on back – see close-up
• Unmarked otherwise, no chips or cracks
A great little piece of German design – Bauhaus-inspired, minimal, and useful without trying too hard. If you collect 1970s-90s modern desk accessories, this fits right in.
