This framed print is a vintage "Buzza Motto" featuring the poem "If for Girls" by American writer J.P. McEvoy. © eBay +1 First published in 1924, the poem was written as a response to Rudyard Kipling's famous 1895 poem "If—". While Kipling's original offered paternal advice to his son on manhood, McEvoy's adaptation focuses on virtues for girls, emphasizing a "sweet and gentle spirit," faith, and the strength to say an "unconquerable 'No''. It has an inscription on the back from Christmas 1941. I believe the covering is plexiglass and not glass. There are shadows of me taking the picture that I couldn’t figure out how to eliminate. There are no marks or shadows on the print however. It’s in very good condition.
