The Canterbury pattern was produced by the Duncan & Miller Glass Company, which later merged with United States Glass Company and eventually became part of Tiffin-Franciscan. This pattern is known for its elegant, often floral or fruit-inspired designs, and was popular during the mid-20th century. The "citron" color, a yellowish-green, is a distinctive hue often associated with this period and manufacturer. This particular piece, shaped like a pumpkin or gourd, is a classic example of Depression-era or mid-century glassware, often used as a candy dish or trinket box. Such items were widely produced and collected for their decorative appeal and affordability, making them popular additions to home decor during the 1940s and 1950s.
