Vintage Lalique Art Deco MASQUE - Arethuse Masque de Femme Femme Crystal Pendant Necklace - Gold Plated with Original Box & Cord From my Plumb Crazy Vintage collection - a true collector's piece. This is the coveted Lalique "Masque de Femme" - also called the Arethuse - square pendant. The face of a serene woman surrounded by four stylized fish, rendered in Lalique's signature frosted clear crystal (cristal) with that soft, luminous depth Lalique is famous for. Details: • Maker: Lalique France - 100% authentic • Motif: Masque de Femme / Arethuse - MASQUE - Femme - the nymph Arethusa • Material: Clear frosted and polished crystal, set in gold-plated frame. The back plate is polished gold-plated with engraved LALIQUE mark. • Cord: Original Lalique light grey / greige twisted silk rope cord with adjustable slip knot. Approx 20-22" wearable length, very comfortable. • Size: Pendant measures approx 1" x 1" square (25mm x 25mm), 1-1/4" tall with bail. Perfect statement size - substantial but not heavy. • Hallmarks: Front - intaglio crystal with no chips. Back - LALIQUE in block letters with underline and small square crab / flower mark, as shown. Box - original Lalique light grey shagreen presentation box with Lalique logo on lid and inside cushion. Condition: Very good vintage condition. Crystal is pristine with no chips, cracks, or flea bites. Gold plating shows very light surface scratching on back plate consistent with age and wear - visible in photos - but bright and intact on front bezel and bail. Cord is clean with no fraying. Box shows light wear. A stunning Art Deco revival piece from the 1980s-90s when Lalique reissued René's 1935 fountain designs as jewelry. Goes with everything - jeans and a tee or evening wear.
