Hi Everyone! I am from Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home.
Fostoria Glass Company was an American manufacturer of glassware, founded in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1887. The company later moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, in 1891, where it operated for nearly a century. Fostoria was known for its high-quality, elegant glassware, including tableware, decorative items, and lighting fixtures, often made from lead crystal. Their products were popular throughout the 20th century and remain sought after by collectors today for their craftsmanship and design. The "American" pattern, which this plate appears to be part of, was introduced by Fostoria in the 1970s and is characterized by its diamond and fan-like cut designs. This pattern was produced in clear lead crystal and was intended for everyday use as well as special occasions. The presence of the original label further confirms its authenticity and provides a clear indication of its origin and material.
