Hi Everyone! I am Amy, one of the Moderators here at Secondhandsquad.net. Part of that role is to assist with any questions you may have, so fire away! I am from Columbus, Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home. While I love the reselling business, I find my joy in giving new life to old pieces and sharing that with others.
Clorox was first introduced in 1913 as a liquid bleach product, initially sold in small glass bottles. The company's early packaging often utilized amber glass, which was believed to offer some protection against light degradation of the product. These early bottles are now sought after by collectors for their historical significance and distinctive design. This particular bottle, marked "CLOROX" and "32 OZ," represents an early iteration of their packaging before the widespread adoption of plastic containers. The embossed lettering and the cork stopper are characteristic of bottles from the mid-20th century, a period when glass was the primary material for household chemical packaging.
