Hi Everyone! I am from Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home.
Fostoria Glass Company was an American manufacturer of glassware, founded in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1887. The company later moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, in 1891, where it operated for nearly a century. Fostoria was known for its high-quality pressed and blown glassware, including tableware, decorative items, and lighting fixtures, often produced in a variety of colors and patterns. The 'Colony' line, introduced in the mid-20th century, featured a distinctive hobnail pattern and other pressed glass designs that became very popular. This particular candelabra, likely from the Colony line, showcases the pressed glass technique with its fluted base and twisted arms, designed to hold two candles. Such pieces were common decorative items in American homes during the mid-20th century, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The clear glass allows light to refract beautifully, making it a charming addition to any table setting or mantelpiece.
